Algeria, Türkiye trade volume hits $6.3b in 2023

Trade volume between Algeria and Türkiye reached $6.3 billion in 2023, Algeria’s Minister of Trade and Export Promotion Tayeb Zitouni said on Monday.

Zitouni made the announcement at the Algerian-Turkish Business Forum held in Algiers.

Zitouni and his Turkish counterpart, Omer Bolat co-chaired the forum.

He called for broadening bilateral collaboration in areas including agricultural and food products, and mechanical and household appliances.

Other areas of collaboration discussed are in the plastics and packaging industries, as well as the tourism and services sector.

The minister expressed his hope that the trade volume could increase to $10 billion by 2025.

Bolat also called for the expansion of cooperation with Türkiye and increased trade volume.

He highlighted that Algeria was Türkiye’s second-largest partner in Africa and a major recipient of Turkish investments. (Xinhua)
