Abdullah Abu Shawesh, the Palestinian Ambassador to Nigeria, has raised the alarm over the looming famine and outbreak of epidemics in the occupied Palestinian land with the ceaseless attacks by the Israeli Occupied Forces (IOF).

Shawesh raised the alarm at a press conference on Thursday in Abuja.

After forcing Palestinian civilians to flee from Gaza City to the area of Al-Mawasi in the Gaza Strip’s south, the Israeli army has killed these same civilians at the Wadi Gaza checkpoint in the central Gaza Strip.

According to him, the lives and health, physical and mental, of the women and girls of Gaza are severely compromised, quoting a United Nations report.

“More than 200 fanatic Israeli settlers stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque, guarded by the occupation force where they performed Talmudic ritual.

“Meanwhile, the occupation authorities continue to impose restrictions on the Muslim worshiper’s entry to Al-Aqsa, preventing them from entering while subjecting others to extensive checks.

“We still insist that the Israeli fanatic and messianic regime is spear no efforts igniting a religious war that if erupted will spare no one,” he said.

The Ambassador revealed that in the last 146 days of the genocidal war, IOF had killed 29,878 Palestinians.

According to him, as of Wednesday, the death toll in the Gaza Strip was 29,878 Martyrs. Also, 70,215 sustained injuries and around 8,000 people still missing under the rubble.

“The scale and gravity of the humanitarian catastrophe caused by Israel’s relentless bombardment, destruction and suffocating siege has put more than two million Palestinians of Gaza at risk of irreparable harm,” he said.

Shawesh quoted the Ministry of Education as declaring that in the last 144 days, 5427 students were martyred, 5379 in Gaza and 48 in the Occupied West Bank (OWB)

At the same time, 9193 were injured, 8888 in Gaza and 305 in the OWB. He added that the ministry documented the arrest of 97 Palestinians in the OWB.

In East Jerusalem, he said 255 teachers and administrative staff were killed and 891 injured.

The Ambassador further hinted that IOF had subjected 286 government schools and 65 UN schools to bombardments and sabotage.

He said 40 of these schools were destroyed in Gaza. Also, 57 schools in the OWB were attacked and sabotaged by the IOF.

“No fewer than 620,000 students in Gaza are still deprived of the right to learn. Also, majority of students are suffering from trauma and facing devastating health situations.

“Israel’s clear policy is to make Gaza an unlivable place after the war.

“Even if the inhabitants are not forced to leave under the fire, they will do so voluntarily due to the lack of hospitals, schools, universities, drinkable water, and other necessities for human life,” Shawesh lamented.

He also commented on the sympathetic but brave action of a US soldier who committed suicide by setting himself ablaze in protest against the Israeli genocide on Palestinian land.

“Glory and eternity to Aaron Bushnell. He died after setting himself ablaze outside the Israeli embassy in Washington, D.C. This is as he declared “will no longer be complicit in genocide”.

“Our deep condolences to the family and friends of Aaron Bushnell. His last words were “free Palestine”, the Ambassador said.
