Retired Brig-Gen. Bashir Adewinmbi, Osun State Commander, of Amotekun Corps, on Tuesday, said operatives of the corps arrested a suspected notorious cult leader in Ilesa on Monday.
Adewinmbi in a statement said corps arrested the suspect, Taiwo Ogunsola (alias Taiwo Portable), on Monday midnight after a complaint was lodged at the Amotekun Ilesa Area Command about his nefarious activities.
He said the suspect has been on the wanted list of the Osun Police Anti-Cultism Unit for a long time.
The commander added corps recovered a Dane gun and an axe from the suspect’s residence.
“Operatives of Osun Amotekun Corps on Monday midnight arrested a young man, Taiwo Ogunsola, 29, for cultism activities in the Olomilagbala area, Ilesa, Osun State.

“His arrest follows a complaint lodged at the Amotekun Ilesa Area Command about his gang’s activities in Ilesa,” he said.
Adewinmbi said on interrogation, the suspect confessed to being a longtime member of the Eiye confraternity.
He also confessed to some nefarious activities carried out in Ilesa and its environs.
The commander said Amotekun Corps has handed over the suspect to the police for investigation and prosecution.
He commended residents of Ilesa for providing the corps with useful information that led to the arrest of the suspect.
