Authorities recover 8 bodies from mass grave in Libya

The Libyan authorities, on Monday, said they discovered eight unidentified bodies in the city of Tarhuna, some 90 kilometres south of the capital Tripoli.

“The field teams from the Excavation Department recovered eight unidentified bodies from a dump site in Tarhuna.”

The General Authority for Research and Identification announced this in a statement.

The recovered bodies will be transferred to the forensic laboratory for identification.

A forensic examination will also determination of the cause of death, the statement said.

Tarhuna was once the eastern-based army’s main operation centre during the war against the former UN-backed Government of National Accord in Tripoli. (Xinhua)
