Abuja, June 16, ’25 (TNZ) President Bola Tinubu has directed security chiefs to implement his earlier directive to bring peace and security to Benue State.

TheNewsZenith reports that the president renewed the order following the latest round of reprisal attacks in which many people also died.

Consequently, the Police. Intelligence chiefs and the military have arrived in the state to restore sanity.

Meanwhile, President Tinubu charged the state governor, Hyacinth Alia, to convene reconciliation meetings and dialogue among the warring parties.

This is with a view to ending the incessant bloodshed and bringing lasting peace and harmonious coexistence between farmers, herders, and communities.

Tinubu described the killings and bloodletting as inhuman and anti-progress.

He called on political leaders and community leaders in conflict areas to stop fuelling the crisis through unguarded utterances.

The president urged them to also rein in those who go out to cause provocations and ignite reprisal attacks.
