Civil Society Organisations have tasked the All Progressives Congress to allow lawmakers at the 10th National Assembly to elect their leaders without interference.
The NewsZenith reports that the organisations operate under the auspices of the Centre for Credible Leadership and Citizen Awareness.
The Director-General of the coalition, Dr Gabriel Nwambu, said this at a news conference on Friday in Abuja.
Nwambu said there was a need to sustain the legacy of President Muhammadu Buhari who insisted on a level playing ground for all aspirants at the 2023 APC primaries.
He said that Section 50 (1a) and (1b) of the Constitution state clearly that members shall elect the senate president, the speaker and their deputies.
