Gov. Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto State has directed immediate payment of June salary to civil servants and pensioners across the state.
Abubakar Bawa, Chief Press Secretary announced the governor’s directive while briefing newsmen on Thursday in Sokoto.
Aliyu said the gesture is in fulfilment of the governor’s campaign promise of ensuring prompt payment of salaries.
“The gesture is aimed at ensuring that the civil servants celebrate the coming Eid-el-Kabir festivities with ease,” he said.

The governor further reassured workers of his administration’s commitment to reviving lost glory of civil service by ensuring the welfare of workers at all times.
Aliyu also appealed to the people of the state to continue to pray for the present administration to succeed in meeting their yearnings and aspirations.
