FG reaffirms commitment to fair representation in appointments

Abuja, April 18, ’25 (TNZ) The Federal Government has reiterated its commitment to uphold the principle of fairness, equity and national unity in all appointments.

TheNewsZenith reports that the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF) gave assurance in a statement on Friday, in Abuja.

Segun Imohiosen, the Director of Information and Public Relations, signed the statement for Secretary to the Government of the Federation.

”The Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF) wishes to address recent insinuations circulating on social media, regarding the composition of federal appointments.

”The government refutes claims of lopsidedness and emphasises its unwavering commitment to the principles of fairness, equity, and national unity.

”The federal government makes all appointments strictly adhering to the federal character principle.

This is as enshrined in Section 14 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended).

”He ensures the ideals of fairness and tenets of justice in all appointments,” TheNewsZenith quotes from the statement.

OSGF reiterated Tinubu Administration’s commitment to ensuring that all regions and demographics of the country are adequately represented in its institutions and agencies.

Therefore, it urges the public to disregard baseless speculations and rely on official government sources for accurate information.

”The Government remains steadfast in its pursuit of a prosperous, united and equitable Nigeria. This is in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of this Administration.”

It urged Nigerians not to take pokers of embers of disunity, who carry tendentious and baseless allegations, seriously. (TNZ)
