Fiese fire has engulfed the popular Agbeni market in Ibadan, Oyo State, destroying goods and property worth millions of naira in the early hours of Sunday.
The NewsZenith gathered that the fire started at about 04.00 a.m., on Sunday, while the cause is yet unknown.
The inferno completely ruined many shops and stalls while the estimated cost of destruction is still unknown as of the time of filing this report.
Agbeni market is located in the heart of Ibadan and it serves as the wholesale depot for various brands of drugs and soft drinks in Oyo State.

The General Manager of Oyo State Fire Services, Mr Yemi Akinyemi, confirmed the incident.
“We received the distress call at exactly 04.37hrs through one Sunday Ogundele, Access Bank security, that Agbeni market is on fire.
“Our men are still battling with the job,” Akinyemi said.
He praised the Central Bank of Nigeria management for granting the Fire Service, access to its water supply.
“Everything is under control now.”
