The Inspector-General (IG), Usman Baba, has ordered the redeployment of officers in three higher ranks of Nigeria Police formation to departments, commands and formations.
The ranks affected are the Deputy Inspector-General (DIGs), Assistant Inspectors-General (AIGs) and Commissioners of Police (CPs).
Force PRO, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said this in a statement on Tuesday in Abuja.
Adejobi explained that the posting and redeployments were in line with IG’s manpower development policy.
In the exercise, IG redeployed DIG Danmallam Mohammed to the Department of Finance and Administration.
It also affected three AIGs, taking up the duties and responsibilities of the DIGs in charge of different departments.

They are AIG Hafiz Inuwa now DIG, Training and Development and AIG Aji Janga now DIG, Research and Planning.
AIG Adeleke Bode is now DIG in charge of Operations.
AIG Habu Ahmadu is now the Force Secretary while AIG Shuaya’u Abdulyari assumes office as the AIG, Force Intelligence Bureau.
Similarly, the Force posted five Police Commissioners to take up the duties and responsibilities of the Assistant Inspectors-General at Zonal Police Commands.
They are CP Matthew Akinyosola as AIG Police Mobile Force; CP Jonathan Towuru as AIG Zone 6 Calabar and CP Sylvester Alabi who take charge as AIG Zone 2 Lagos.
Others are CP Akande Kayode who became AIG Zone 11 Osogbo and CP Abimbola Shokoya as AIG Zone 17 Akure.
Also, the Police boss ordered provisional posting of five Commissioners, in line with his mandate of strengthening commands’ operational structures.
The postings are CP Adebola Hamzat – Adamawa, CP Frank Mba – Ogun, CP Suleiman Yusuf – Taraba, CP Idowu Owohunwa – Lagos and CP Faleye Olaleye – Ebonyi.
All the postings are pending the approval of the Police Service Commission, according to the statement.
