Job racketeering: JAMB Registrar not indicted — Reps C’ttee

House of Reps

The House of Representative Ad-hoc Committee investigating job racketeering in MDAs says it has not indicted the Registrar, Joint Admission and Matriculations Board (JAMB), Prof Ishaq Oloyode of wrongdoing.

Rep. Yusuf Gagdi, Chairman of the committee gave the clarification at the resumed hearing of the committee in Abuja on Saturday.

Gagdi further said that no agencies of the Federal Government had been indicted, contrary to speculations.

He said the committee had been having a robust engagement with all agencies appearing before it.

“It’s wrong to insinuate the committee indicted JAMB registrar when we’re still carrying out our assignment,” the chairman said.

There have been reports that the committee indicted JAMB registrar for employing about 300 staff without advertisement.

He said until the committee concludes its assignment and submitted a report, it would be incorrect to say it indicted any agency for any wrongdoing.

“This committee has not indicted the registrar of JAMB and we have not indicted any institution.

“You can only say that after we submit our report.

“We’ve had good interaction with Oloyede and nobody should preempt our decision to say that somebody is faulty.”
