Lagos State Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Mr Mobolaji Ogunlende, on Monday, distributed food items to 1,500 women in Badagry to reduce hunger in the society.
Addressing the crowd, Ogunlende said the gesture “demonstrates my commitment, support and dedication to my people, in Badagry”.
According to him, this edition is specifically for women.
“A day before Ramadan, a group of leaders gathered at this same venue to receive 2,950 bags of food items for distribution to the needy.
“We are here today to distribute 1,500 food items to different wards across Badagry. This is irrespective of race, culture, religion and background.
“We will continue to give out palliative to our people as the need and capacity arises,” the commissioner said.
In his remarks, Mr Gafar Meyon, the Chairman of Badagry Local Government Area, said Ogunlende’s exemplary deeds had continued to make less privileged families smile in the area.

Meyon urged other elective officeholders in Badagry to emulate the gesture of assisting the vulnerable in the town.
Mrs Sewede Pot-Balogun-Olorunfemi, Women Leader of the RAK Political Unit, remarked that the food palliative distribution “is one of the biggest in Badagry”.
Olorunfemi said the palliatives would help women to feed their families.
The APC Women Apex Leader, Alhaja Mojisola Adeshina, said that the commissioner had been good to women and others.
“He has continued to feed people across the Badagry federation,” Adeshina said.
She assured the commissioner that the palliatives would reach the intended beneficiaries.
