The locals around the Marina Resort area, in collaboration with the Police, have recovered the bodies of three medical students missing after a boat mishap in Calabar, Cross River on Saturday.
The rescue team recovered the bodies on Monday morning.
The NewsZenith gathered that the bodies recovered comprised of two male and one female students from Ahmadu Bello University, Niger Delta University and the University of Uyo respectively.
Mr Gyogen Grima, the Commissioner of Police in Cross River, told newsmen at the Resort that the force had not rested since the incident happened on Saturday.
“Today, local divers recovered three bodies and they delivered the bodies to us.
“When people sighted the bodies, our Marine Police raced to the scene and with joint efforts, we recovered the bodies.

“We have taken them to hospital for preservation, for now,” Grima said.
He informed newsmen that the state governor is aware of the incident and already taking some action.
“As you can see, the government shut down the resort yesterday. That is to tell you that we take the incident seriously.”
Grima spoke on the need to take measures to secure lives and properties in the tourist areas of the state.
“The government is addressing this and in no distant time, something would be heard from the authorities.
