Police charge man for stealing pot cover

The Police in Kano, on Wednesday, dragged a 24-year-old Imamu Tijjani, before a Kano Sharia Court in Fagge for allegedly stealing a pot cover valued at N3,000 and tN13,500 cash.

Tijjani, who lives in Kofar Na’isa Quarters, Kano is charged with theft.

The prosecutor, Insp Abdullahi Wada, told the court a complainant, Rashida Abubakar reported the case at Gwale Police Station on May 26.

Wada said the defendant trespassed into the complainant’s house and stole her pot cover valued at N3,000 and N13,500 cash.

The defendant, however, pleaded guilty to the charge.

The Judge, Malam Umar Lawal-Abubakar admitted the defendant to N10,000 bail with one surety.

Lawal-Abubakar said the surety should be a blood relation.

He adjourned the matter until June 13, for summary trial.
