The nationwide protest entered Day two on Friday as protesting youths gathered at the popular Gani Fawehinmin’s Park in Ojota in Lagos.

TheNewsZenith reports that the group of protesters, who claimed to be concerned Nigerians, said they remain resolute on their demands.

They said their positions for the protest have not changed from the first day of the exercise.

The groups had earlier refused to enter the Gani Fawehinmin’s Park, after occupying the ever-busy Ojota-Ikorodu expressway for about three hours.

TheNewsZenith reports that after about three hours of stay on the road, they eventually moved into the park at about 11.03 a.m.

The protesters had earlier claimed that there were agents around planning to attack them in the park.

However, the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Area Commander F Ikeja, Mr Paul Okafor, spoke on behalf of the security personnel at the park.

Okafor assured the protesters of their safety.

”The Police and other security here are deployed to give you protection. We are expecting the Commissioner of Police, Mr Adegoke Fayoade. He will address you all when he comes.

”We urge all protesters to exercise their rights within the laws. Troublemakers are not welcome here.

”There was another group who came before that would have caused the problem, I have spoken to them and they left. Everything is ok,” he said.

TheNewsZenith further reports that the security personnel including the Police,  DSS, Civil Defence, Lagos State Taskforce and Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Corps were on the ground to provide security.

The OP MESA, the military arm of the state security patrols were also going around the area to ensure no bridge of peace and order.

The protesters provided a DJ, who was given different music tunes, to which the protesters danced as they sang endlessly.
