Gombe, March 26, ’26 (TNZ) A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has listed purposeful leadership and harmonious intra-party stability as key elements of an enduring democratic system.
TheNewsZenith reports that the chieftain, Abdulrahman Haske, said further that these elements offer greater socio-economic development for a nation.
Haske, a governorship aspirant in Adamawa State, stated this on the sidelines of the APC Zonal Congress of the North-Eastern states on Wednesday in Gombe.
According to him, such intra-party stability has positioned the APC as a party with institutionalised progressive governance across the country.
The governorship hopeful attributed the APC’s success to the purposeful leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
TheNewsZenith reports that Gov. Muhammadu Yahaya of Gombe hosted the zonal congress. The high-level gathering drew an array of influential leaders within the APC fold.
It produced Mr Idris Shaibu Gella, State Chairman of Adamawa State, as the new National Vice Chairman, North-East.
Present at the congress were Governors Mai Mala Buni, Agbu Kefas, and Ahmadu Fintiri of Yobe, Taraba, and Adamawa states, respectively, among others.

In a statement by Haske’s Publicity Secretary, Abdulgaffar Ahmed, the Adamawa gubernatorial aspirant, congratulated the Gella and other officials elected to manage the affairs of the APC in the North-East Zone.
Haske said the peaceful conduct of the various party events across local, state and national levels reflected the stability created by the party leadership.
Addressing party faithful and delegates on the sidelines of the congress, Haske described the gathering as a defining moment for the APC in the North-East.
He said the Congress reflects the party’s unity and internal democracy. It also indicated APC’s readiness to consolidate its political strength ahead of future electoral contests.
“This Congress is not merely a procedural gathering; it is a powerful affirmation of our collective resolve as a party.
“It demonstrates that the APC remains united, focused, and prepared to deepen democratic values while advancing the development agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” TheNewsZenith quotes Haske as saying.
For the Adamawa-born political figure, the enthusiastic reception in Gombe marked yet another significant step in what many observers now describe as a steadily rising political wave ahead of the next governorship race in Adamawa.
