Sen. Salisu to deliver UNIFEMGA’s 2024 reunion  lecture

Sen. Shuaib Afolabi Salisu (SAS) will deliver the keynote address at the 2024 annual national reunion conference of the Obafemi Awolowo University Muslim Graduates’ Association (UNIFEMGA).

The association’s Chairman of the Planning Committee, Alhaji Mohammed Buari, said in a statement that the event, scheduled for Saturday, May 18 will take place at the Oduduwa Hall, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State.

TheNewsZenith reports that Salisu, representing Ogun Central Senatorial District, will speak on “Changing Nigeria’s consumption-based economy to a service and production-based economy”.

The leture presentation is part of a three-day reunion conference of the association. It will running from Friday, May 17 to Sunday, May 19.

Buari said the event promises a rich array of activities aimed at fostering intellectual discourse, networking, and community engagement.

According to him, the Royal Father of the day is the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II.

The Chairman of the occasion is Dr Ahmed Tunde Popoola, Managing Director of CRC Credit Bureau Limited. Also, Prof. Adebayo Simeon Bamire is the Host Vice-Chancellor.

Others expected at the reunion include Prof. Yusuf Ali (SAN), three Vice-Chancellors.

They are Prof. Wahab Egbewole (SAN) of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Musa Aibinu of Summit University Offa and Prof. Akeem Lasisi of Federal University of Health Sciences (FUHSI), Ila Orangun.

The conference will start with a networking dinner on Friday, May 17. Alhaji Rafiu Ebiti, BOT Chairman of UNIFEMGA will host the dinner  after a special Jumat Service.

Other events at the renion conference include the “UNIFEMGA Investment Forum,” modelled after the popular TV show “Dragons’ Den”. The forum offers entrepreneurs a platform to pitch their businesses to potential investors.

The reunion activities will also feature the commissioning of the UNIFEMGA National Secretariat and a welcome reception for all delegates.

There will also be presentation of scholarship grants, keep-fit exercises and novelty matches.

Reflecting on the significance of this reunion, Alhaji Abdulfattah Olanlege, UNIFEMGA National President, said its alignment with the conclusion of his tenure. Olanlege expressed optimism for the incoming executive.

TheNewsZenith reports that more than 300 delegates, including those from the Diaspora, have registered to attend the conference.
