President Bola Tinubu, on Thursday, wrote to the National Assembly informing members of the appointment of new Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) and Service Chiefs.
In the letter, addressed to the Speaker and read at Plenary, the President urged for speedy confirmation of the Service Chiefs and the CDS in accordance with extant laws.
The President said the request “is in compliance with provisions of Section 18(1) of the Armed Forces Act. Cap A20 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004.
The Presidency announced the appointment of service chiefs while the National was on the Sallah holiday.
The service chiefs are Maj. Gen. C.G Musa, Chief of Defence Staff; Maj. T. A. Lagbaja, Chief of Army Staff; Rear Admiral E. A. Ogalla Chief of Naval Staff and AVM H.B. Abubakar, Chief of Air Staff.
