Abeokuta, Oct. 2, ’25 (TNZ) The stage is set for the 18th annual lecture of The Muslim Congress (TMC) in Ogun State in commemoration of Nigeria’s 65th independence anniversary.

TMC’s spokesperson in the State announced this in a statement, on Thursday, in Abeokuta.
According to Folarin, the organisation will also provide free medical services to people ahead of the event slated for Saturday, Oct. 4 at the Ake palace arcade in Abeokuta.
The statement quoted the Waali (Chairman) of TMC in the state, Dr Abdulrazaq Ogunmoye, as saying that the medical services would be provided in collaborations with three other voluntary organisations in the state.
They are Accurate Medical Laboratory, The Patriots (a community-based organisation), and Damien Foundation (a Non-governmental organisation).
Ogunmoye advised people to report at the venue by 8.00 am to benefit from the free medical checkups, consultation, medications, and many more.
Meanwhile, TheNewsZenith reports that the theme of the 18th annual lecture is “The Nigerian State and Lessons From Contemporary History”.
Amb. Sarafa Ishola, former High Commissional to the United Kingdom, will be the chairman of the occasion.
Ogunmoye further stated that the Durector of Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC), Prof. Ishaq Akintola will deliver the first lecture.

He titled the lecture as: “The New World Order: Local Political Dynamics, Global Diplomacy, and Pathways to Genuine National Sovereignty”.
Furthermore Sheikh Abdul Hafeez Ariremako, the Director, Al-Qudraa Schools, Ibadan, will deliver second lecture.
His lecture will focus on “Shariah in a Pluralistic Society: Prospects, Challenges, and Strategies for Effective Implementation.”
TheNewsZenith further reports tgat a former deputy governor on the state, Sen. Adegbenga Kaka will be the keynote speaker.
Deputy Minority leader of Ogun State House of Assembly representing Abeokuta South 2 State Constituency, Lukman Olajide Atobatele and Adebayo Samsudeen Apelogun (All Rounder), will serve as distinguished special guests of honour.
The royal fathers of the day include High Chief Alhaji Sikirullai Atobatele, the Balogun of Egbaland; Sheikh Iskeel Lawal Sugar, Wakeelu Muslimeen of Yorubaland, Edo and Delta, and Alhaji Kamaldeen Akintunde, Secretary-General, Ogun State Muslim Council (OMC).
Other highlights of the event will include the presentation of honours awards to outstanding personalities in Ogun State.
There will also be presentation of health insurance certificates to Baales from Abeokuta South and special digital literacy competition. (TNZ)
