The Alumni of the prestigious Mass Communication, University of Lagos (UMCAA) are set for the 2023 reunion dinner and awards (Ball and Awards) in Lagos.
Lekan Otufodunrin, Chairman, Media and Publicity sub-committee, said in a statement on Monday, the annual dinner would take place at LCCI conference centre, Ikeja on Dec. 2.
“This prestigious event promises an evening of celebration, nostalgia and recognition of outstanding achievements among our esteemed alumni community.
“As members of UMCAA gather to commemorate another year of success and growth, this year’s event is an extraordinary celebration.
“The event is a cherished tradition that brings together alumni from diverse fields to honour their accomplishments and contributions,” Otufodunrin stated.
He quoted Aliu Akoshile, Vice Chairman of the organising committee, as noting that this year’s event will be an improvement on last year’s.
“It will be an exciting evening of 3Rs – reunion, reminiscences and recognition, and of course a delightful dinner.”
The vice chairman boasts that there would be a higher turnout this year, considering the remarkable feat being recorded by UMCAAites in their various endeavours.
Highlight of the evening include presentation of awards in various categories that showcase excellence, leadership, and dedication.

“The significance of the awards is to celebrate hardworking UMCAAites. It is also to encourage younger generations to become experts in their chosen endeavours.
“Six awards are up for grabs at the event. Members of the award sub-committee are working hard to select the best of the best for recognition,” he said.
The awards categories include Most Outstanding Set Award, Most Outstanding Media Brand Award, Most Outstanding Journalist Award.
Others are Most Outstanding Brand Manager Award, Most Outstanding Academic Award and Distinguished Veteran Award.
The event will also feature inspiring keynote speakers, live entertainment and opportunities for networking, fostering connections that last a lifetime.
“We invite all alumni of Mass Communication department, University of Lagos, to join us for this momentous occasion.
“This is to celebrate accomplishments of individuals and the collective success of our vibrant community,” the statement read in part.
