Woman docked for allegedly posting obscene materials on Tiktok

The Police, on Thursday, charged 34-year-old Gift Okpomini, before an Ikorodu Magistrate’s Court in Lagos for allegedly posting obscene materials on Tiktok.

Okpomini is facing a three-count charge of conduct likely to cause a breach of trust, sending dangerous or obscene things by post and theft.

The defendant, whose address was not provided, however, pleaded not guilty.

The Prosecutor, Insp Adegeshin Famuyiwa, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Nov. 8 at about 1.09 p.m. at No 4, Erubami str, in Igbogbo area of Ikorodu Lagos.

Famuyiwa said the defendant conducted herself in a manner likely to cause a breach of peace by posting the pictures of Mr and Mrs Okaweze Osbert on Tiktok.

He said that she tagged the couple as criminals, thieves and wanted, which is false.

He also said that between Aug. 1 and Aug. 8, at Ogunlewe str, the defendant converted N67,000 belonging to Gab lotto and N5,195 belonging to Wesco lotto.

He said the offence contravenes the provisions of sections 259(b), 168(d) and 287(7) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

Magistrate A.O Ogbe, admitted the defendant to N50,000 bail with a surety in like sum and a verifiable address.

He adjourned the case until Dec.8 for mention.
