No fewer than 12 drug peddlers arrested in Kano State have been convicted for various jail terms, according to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).

TheNewsZenith reports that the spokesman of the State Command of the anti-drug agency, Sadiq Maigatari, announced the convictions in a statement on Saturday in Kano.

Maigatari described the convictions as a significant milestone in the agency’s fight against drug-related offences in the state.

According to him, the agency’s State Commander, Abubakar Ahmad, expressed joy in securing the judgement against the convicts.

“The agency secured multiple convictions in one day.

“This is a demonstration of its unwavering commitment to maintaining a zero-tolerance policy against drug peddling,” TheNewsZenith quotes the statement.

Maigatari said the court found the convicts guilty of orchestrating drug trafficking activities.
