At least five workers died on Saturday after an explosion rocked the state-owned Mechanical Chemical Industry Company’s rocket and explosive factory.

The explosion happened in the Elmadag district of Türkiye’s Ankara province, the Turkish Defense Ministry said.

The ministry said an investigation was launched into the incident.

“According to initial investigations, a chemical reaction caused the explosion,” Ankara Governor Vasip Sahin said in a statement. (Xinhua)
