Men of the Osun State Amotekun Corps have arrested two men (names withheld) for an alleged kidnapping attempt.
The Amotekun operatives, acting on a tip-off, arrested the suspects, aged 19 and 26 years respectively, at Ogidan Grammar School, and Nawarudeen Grammar School, Oke-Baale areas in Osogbo.
TheNewsZenith gathered that residents of the areas had noticed unfamiliar faces in their domain and promptly alerted the Amotekun corps.
They apprehended the suspects on the school’s premises. But on interrogation by newsmen, the two suspects denied being kidnappers.
The Amotekun Corps Commander of Osun, Brig. Gen. Bashir Adewinmbi confirmed the arrests.
Adewinmbi said his men arrested the suspects, disguised as commercial motorcycles, at different locations in Osogbo.

He noted that kidnappers now use different techniques to kidnap their victims.
“That is why people should be vigilant, as hoodlums disguise as innocent people. Whereas, they are notorious criminals.
“Upon investigation, we discovered the suspects have a skeleton in their cupboard.
“They refused to confess their mission on the school’s premises during school hours.
“The suspects have been transferred to the Police Anti-Kidnapping Unit for subsequent interrogation and prosecution,” the Amotekun boss said.
