Rivers Residents Await Results of Presidential Election

There are high expectations in Port Harcourt and other parts of Rivers State as residents await the outcome of the Presidential and National Assembly elections.

The NewsZenith gathered that between 7.00 p.m. and 8.00 p.m. on Saturday, INEC was still conducting elections in some areas.

The Bi-modal Voters Accreditation (BVAS) machines malfunctioned in many areas, including at Ward-9, Unit-7 in Rumuiprikon, Obio/Akpor LHA, where Gov. Nyesom Wike voted.

The heavy downpour and lightning during the voting hours on Saturday also led to voters seeking shelter and later returning to their polling units.

As of noon on Sunday, INEC has not uploaded any results.

At the INEC office, along Aba Road in Port Harcourt, as of 11.00 a.m.no result has arrived from any of the local government areas.

Some party supporters have been eagerly awaiting to know the fate of their candidates.
