LASG plans biggest children hospital in Africa

Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State says his administration is committed to guaranteeing a better future for children in the state.

To this end, Sanwo-Olu said “plans are in place to build the biggest children’s hospital in Africa”.

The governor made the pledge during special Jumat to mark his second term inauguration at Lagos Central Mosque, Lagos Island.

The NewsZenith reports that Deputy Governor, Obafemi Hamzat, represented Sanwo-Olu at the Jummat service.

Jummat service was a part of activities of the government’s 11-day inauguration programme.

The NewsZenith recalls that Sanwo-Olu on April 28, 2021 flagged off the construction of Massey Children’s Hospital, a 150-bed specialist hospital for children in Lagos.

He said the hospital, one of the achievements of his administration, will be the biggest Children’s Hospital in Sub-Saharan Africa when completed.

Other activities are a Cultural Day celebration on Saturday and a Thanksgiving/Church Service on Sunday at Marina.

“We have our agenda and it is our plan to build the biggest children’s hospital in Africa.

“We will provide better future for our children and we believe in your support and encouragement in this,” he said.

The governor assured the people that they would not regret voting for him for the second term.
