Late President Raisi’s helicopter crashed due to weather – report

Weather conditions primarily caused the helicopter crash, in which Iran’s former President Ebrahim Raisi, died.

Iran’s state TV had reported, citing the final investigation report on the incident.

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, died when his helicopter crashed in May in a mountainous region near the Azerbaijan border.

Raisi, a hardliner was a potential successor to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

“The main reason for the helicopter crash was complicated weather conditions in the region,” the final report concluded, according to Iran’s state TV.

The report said that A thick fog caused the helicopter carrying Raisi and his companions to crash into the mountain.

A high committee charged by Iran’s military with investigating the incident issued the report.

Iran’s military’s preliminary report had said in May that it found no evidence of foul play or an attack during the investigation.
