The command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed this to newsmen on Tuesday, while giving an update on the killing.
According to Hundeyin, the two officers did not take part in the crime.
The NewsZenith reports that the suspect allegedly killed Lawyer, Omobolale Raheem, while returning from Church service on Christmas day.
The Police had arrested Vandi and two other officers attached to Ajiwe Police station in Ajah area for allegedly killing Raheem, a lawyer, same day.
Hundeyin said the command put them in protective custody immediately.
Later, they were transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for thorough investigation.
He said the command detained the two officers for interrogation and testimonies.
“The two policemen arrested with ASP, who killed the lawyer will be released on Tuesday (today) after giving their testimonies.”

He said the command arrested them because they saw what happened.
”They didn’t take part in the allegedly killing of the woman.
“The dou have given their stories on what happened.
”And the CP ordered their release while investigations continue,” he said.
On the update about similar killing of one Gafaru Buraimoh on Dec. 7 by a police officer from the same Ajiwe police station, Hundeyin said the officer ”is still in detention.
”He has not appear in court yet”.
”This is because the authorities have not release his dismissal order.
“There are indeed consequences.
”The officer is still in detention at the SCID.
”We are wrapping up his investigation.
“Once his dismissal order comes out, we will charge him to court immediately,” he said.
