TheNewsZenith reports that no fewer than 1000 patients benefited from the health outreach programme.

The exercise took place at three centres simultaneously; Itire-Ikate LCDA secretariat, Ikeja Local Government and Gbagada General Hospital.

TheNewsZenith reports that organisers tagged the programme “Come and Have Your Sight Restored”.

It started on Jan. 7 and ended on Jan. 14.

Speaking at the event, the team lead of the medical outreach, Dr Bolanle Balogun, spoke on the foundation’s commitment to restoring vision.

“This is in fulfilling its corporate social responsibility by putting smiles on the faces of Nigerians,” TheNewsZenith quotes Balogun as saying.

Balogun added that similar exercises are also ongoing in Abeokuta and other parts of the Southwest.

She assured that the Foundation would reach as many people as possible through the outreach.

“Everyone deserves to have a God-given vision. As people age, their vision begins to deteriorate. Unfortunately, many cannot afford the cost of treatment,”

Balogun, a consultant, stressed the need for the government to ensure access to eye care.

She commended the state government for its remarkable achievements in the health sector. (TNZ)
