The Olowu of Owu Kingdom in Abeokuta, Oba (Prof.) Zakariyah Matemilola has commended the charitable activities of the Islamic Humanitarian Society (IHS) for bringing relief, confidence and joy to prison inmates.

TheNewsZenith reports that the Royal father gave commendation when a delegation of the society paid him a courtesy visit at Oke-Ago Owu in Abeokuta on Monday.

AbdulRasheed Okenla, the Coordinator of IHS led the delegation on the visit to the Owu palace.

Okenla said the visit aimed to strengthen ties between the society and the palace.

It also affords the leadership of the organisation to discuss potential collaborations in the areas of education, healthcare and community development, the coordinator added.

He thanked the Royal Father for his hospitality and for supporting the humanitarian activities of the society.

Okenla reiterated the society’s commitment to alleviating suffering and promoting the well-being of vulnerable populations in the country.

Responding, Oba Matemilola pledged continuous collaboration and support for the society’s initiatives.

The Orunto of Owu Kingdom, Chief Abiodun Lashile, who earlier received the team into the palace.

Lashile commended the IHS for its selfless service to humanity, particularly in the area of prison welfare.

He encouraged the organisation to learn more to broaden its scope of humanitarian services.

The Mufti of the society, Ustadz Adam AbdulAzeez prayed for good health, a sound mind and long life for the royal father.
