The Police have arrested eight suspects for allegedly attempting to disrupt the inauguration of a new commissioner at the Kano State Government House.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Usaini Gumel, confirmed the arrest, on Friday, in Kano.
Gumel said that the suspects pose a security threat at the government house.
He warned miscreants and their sponsors to stay clear of the state government activities.
“Whoever tries to cause security breach or disrupt the peace where critical government activities and functions are taking place, will be arrested.

“Such culprits will face the dire consequences of their actions.
“Enough of “Yan Jagaliya” clusters loitering around Government House and similar offices, disrupting governance.
“The leader of these eight thugs, without remorse, led his team to the venue again and ‘did the done’ until the crime prevention patrol team apprehended them,” the commissioner warned.
He said the suspected thugs had constituted themselves as a pressure group and supporters of one of the infamous politicians who attempted to cause the breakdown of law and order.
Currently, the suspects are at the Command’s Criminal Investigation Department CID, undergoing investigations. The Police will bring them to justice as provided by the law, he said.
The Commissioner thanked the good people of the state for their support and cooperation with the command. He reiterated the command’s determination to deal with miscreants or their sponsors.
