The Police Command in Bauchi State has confirmed the arrest of two students of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi (ATBU), on allegations of criminal conspiracy, housebreaking and theft.

TheNewsZenith reports that Ahmed Wakili, the Command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO), announced the arrest in a press statement at the weekend.

Wakili stated that operatives of the command acted on intelligence after an individual alerted the Divisional Police Headquarters Yelwa about a group of students assaulting two of their peers.

He identified the suspect as Bamusa Bako, a 25-year-old 400-level student of Urban and Regional Planning.

The other suspect is Yusuf Umar, a 28-year-old 500-level student of Industrial Design.

“Both both them are from the Yelwa Campus of the university.

“Upon receiving the report, a team of detectives, led by DPO Yelwa, was dispatched to the scene to rescue the victims and initiate an investigation.
