A heavy rain, accompanied by a windstorm, killed four persons at IBB Square Tradefair Permanent site on Saturday night in Bauchi metropolis.
TheNewsZenith reports that the Police confirmed the incident to newsmen, on Sunday, in Bauchi.
The police spokesman in the state, SP Ahmad Muhammad Wakil, said five people were found in the buildings that collapsed. Four of them lost their lives while one sustained injuries.
Wakili gave the names of those who died including Abdullahi Abubakar, 38, Sadiq Ahmed Alfa, 32, Malam Musa and Abdullahi Abdurrahman.
TheNewsZenith reports that the IBB square in Bauchi recently hosted the 15th North-East zone trade fair which the states in the zone attended.
The windstorm accompanied by heavy rainfall caused damage to the stalls of Gombe and Yobe states.
The State Commissioner of Commerce and Industry, Alhaji Mahmood Abubakar lamented that the rainstorm lasted 30 minutes from 8.30 p.m. on Saturday.

“The state government is deeply concerned with what has happened.
“It is the work of God and not something that you blame a contractor or any individual.
“Certainly, the trade fair closed about a week ago or so this happened now. This is even as some people are still doing little trading there,” Abubakar said.
The Director General of Bauchi State Chamber of Commerce Industry Mines and Agriculture (BACCIMA), Alhaji Sani Tahir Hamid extended condolences to the families of those who died.
“Our condolences to the families of the four men who lost their lives in the disaster.
“May God shower them with mercy, amen. Those injured, may Allah heal their wounds and bless them,” Tahir prayed.
