Gov. Dapo Abiodun of Ogun state and his two immediate predecessors, Gbenga Daniel and Ibikunle Amosun, have commended the smooth conduct of the 2023 Presidential and National Assembly elections.
The trio spoke in separate interviews with newsmen after casting their votes in their respective polling units.
Abiodun, who voted at Ward-3, Unit-2, Osanyin, Iperu in Ikenne Local Government area, said the exercise was orderly and peaceful.
He commended the impressive turnout of voters and their orderly conduct during the election process.
“I hope what we have seen here will obtain in length and breadth of the state.
“I commend INEC for the hard work.
“They have taken up more responsibilities and have been on top of their duties.
“We have not heard about any crisis anywhere, it has been reports of peace from the field,” Abiodun said.
He, however, complained about INEC’s failure to provide enough identification cards for agents of his ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Daniel Express Delight
In his remarks, Daniel, who governed the state from May 29, 2003, to May 28, 2011, voted at Unit 032, Ward 4, Awolowo Avenue, GRA, Sagamu.
He also adjudged the exercise as credible and rancour-free.
The former governor noted that the credibility of the voting process had been enhanced by the deployment of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) technology.

“So far, so good, this election has been peaceful and we are impressed by this,” he said.
Daniel urged every eligible voter to come out and exercise his or her civic responsibilities.

Also, Amosun commended the large voter turnout and the peaceful, orderly manner they conduct themselves at polls.
He, however, expressed reservation at the delay in the BVAS authentication process because.
“When I arrived at this polling unit, the machine was not working and I had to call attention INEC to it.
“We have been in the queue for hours, but I thank God that INCE technical team came and repaired it.
“I have to wait until it was resolved and I have voted,” Amosun, who governed the state between 2011 and 2019, said.
