The minister made this call during a meeting with the management teams of GenCos and DisCos in Abuja.
A ministerial statement quoted Adelabu as saying the meeting aimed at finding lasting solution to challenges in the power sector.
“Such challenges had affected the growth and development of the country’s economy,” the minister said.
He hinted that he would hold regular meetings with all the players in generating, transmitting and distributing value chain.
This, according to him, is in order to constantly review developments in the power sector.
Adelabu described the gathering as the most authentic way of getting valuable information on the challenges facing operators.
“We called this meeting to learn from you and the only way to salvage a bad situation is to understand the real issues on ground.
”You will agree with me that power is the most important issue you need in order to re-energise the economy in terms of achieving the desired economic growth and industrial development.”

He referenced President Bola Tinubu’s inaugural speech, describing power as “a major driver of economic growth and industrial development”.
Adelabu urged the operators to synergise for success in power industry. He added that the work at hand could not be carried out by one person.
“Power is one of the important things we need to energise the economy towards achieving desired growth and industrial development.
“The president has identified the power sector as a major driver of economic growth. Therefore, government will not entertain excuse for non performance,” he said.
The minister solicited the support of the relevant bodies in order to forge a ‘practical solution beyond theory’.
According to him, the cooperation of heads of GenCos and DisCos will make an impact in the sector.
“There won’t be anything as fulfilling as making impact in the power sector within three years, delivering and sustaining electricity supply to the end users.
“They include schools, households, small businesses and industries,” he said.
