The Apapa Port Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) generated N1.61 trillion between July and September, TheNewsZenith reports.
Comptroller Babatunde Olomu, who heads the Area Command, announced the revenue figure in a statement on Monday in Lagos.
Olomu said the figure exceeded the N1.17 trillion collected as total revenue in 2023.
He described the feat as a fallout of the diligence and integrity of his personnel.
The Comptroller pledged that the command would continually engage with stakeholders to improve revenue collection and reduce smuggling.
According to him, the command collected N201.8 billion in July and N193.9 billion in September.

He described the collections in those months as spectacular, which the command could replicate in the last quarter of 2024.
Olomu said various trade facilitation programmes emplaced by the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adeniyi, were dutifully implemented.
He commended the command’s effort at increasing revenue collection, relying on diligent examination and uncompromising interventions.
The Area Controller reiterated the CGC’s zero tolerance for smuggling and warned those involved in illegal businesses to desist.
“We are not losing guard. Our tempo of vigilance is air-tight, which attests to our capacity to detect smuggling and make seizures,” TheNewsZenith quoted Olomu as saying.
