He said the major agricultural project would transform Gombe into a Cassava Hub.

According to him, the measure will revolutionise agriculture and boosting food security in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

During the meeting, the governor outlined the details of the programme.

He directed each of the 11 local government councils to set aside 40 hectares of land, specifically for cassava cultivation.

The decision to focus on cassava, he said, arose after extensive research into its nutritional value and versatility in food processing.

Yahaya emphasized that the step taken would also address pressing issues of hunger and food scarcity .

“Our resolve to transform Gombe into a hub of cassava production in Africa is also paramount.

Responding, Chairman of Gombe State ALGON, Sani Ahmad Haruna, promised that the councils would ensure the sucess of the initiative.

“We are determined to stop at nothing, to ensure the success of this initiative.

“`Your commitment to the development of our state is unwavering and I have full faith in our capacity to drive this project forward,” Haruna who doubled as Gombe LGA Chairman said.

He assured that the council chairmen would maximise the potential of the allocated land.

“Our goal is to make Gombe State synonymous with high-quality cassava production,” he added.
