Gov. Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State has convened an expanded security meeting to address pressing security challenges, particularly in light of the threat of impending nationwide protests.

TheNewsZenith reports that the meeting had in attendance heads of security agencies, local government chairmen, traditional rulers and religious leaders.

Our Correspondent gathered that the meeting reviewed the current security situation.

Discussions laid special emphasis on the looming threat of protest.

Sources hinted TheNewsZenith that participants took turns to share their perspectives and suggestions on how best to navigate these challenging times.

The meeting forged a path toward a more secure and prosperous Gombe State.

Addressing the meeting, Gov. Yahaya, emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and order.

He stressed that the safety of all residents of Gombe State remains a top priority of his administration.

The governor urged leaders of various security agencies to collaborate and create strategies to addresses immediate security concerns.

“They should also fosters long-term stability and development,” he said.

Yahaya reiterated the position of the Inspector-General of Police that all individuals planning to demonstrate or protest must properly identify themselves.

Protesters, he added, “must follow the law by seeking the necessary security permissions and protection”.

The governor assured the people of Gombe State that his administration, in collaboration with security agencies and community leaders, is committed to safeguarding their well-being.
