Dr Iyorchia Ayu, the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has denied allegations that he collected N1 billion from one of the party’s governors.
Gov. Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, had on Friday in Port Harcourt alleged that chairman of he leading opposition party collected huge sum of money from a PDP governor
But Ayu said he never collected any money as an individual, noting that monies received on behalf of the party were duly remitted to the PDP treasury.
He, however, noted that a governor of the party donated N100 million for the renovation of the PDP’s Democratic Institute and that the money has not even been exhausted as the renovation is ongoing.
The party chairman explained that the institute would soon be inaugurated.
