The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), on Thursday, cautioned citizens and tourists in light of monsoon rainfall predictions, an official said.
PMD Director-General, Mahr Sahibzad Khan, told local media that everyone should refrain from unnecessary travel.
They should also avoid landslide-prone areas.
The official emphasized that children should keep away from waterlogged areas, electrical wires, and poles.
He highlighted that the safety of people’s lives and property is the highest priority.
According to him, all four provinces of the South Asian country, Gilgit Baltistan region and Pakistan-controlled Kashmir may have intense spells of rain, wind and thundershowers.

All concerned government departments are in coordination to prevent any incidents, he said.
Khan added that the departments should alert local communities, tourists, and travellers in high-risk areas.
Earlier on Wednesday, the National Disaster Management Authority issued an alert, warning of flash floods and urban flooding in parts of the country due to monsoon rains.
On Sunday, Punjab’s Provincial Disaster Management Authority said in a statement that at least 24 people died and 80 others injured in rain-related incidents in the eastern province this month. (Xinhua)
