Six coal miners were kidnapped by terrorists on Sunday night in the Bolan district of Pakistan’s southwestern Balochistan province, the Police said in a statement on Monday.
According to the provincial police, unknown armed terrorists abducted the miners late in the night from the Mach coal mine area in the district and took them away towards the mountainous area.
Police said the terrorists while escaping from the site left a piece of paper saying they belonged to a proscribed militant outfit.
A heavy contingent of law enforcement agencies reached the spot after the incident was reported, police said, adding that a search operation for the miners had been underway.
Two of the abductees are from Balochistan while the remaining four belong to the northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, police said. (Xinhua)
