Gov. Seyi Makinde has charged traditional institutions in Oyo State to support his government in promoting peace, security and development.

Makinde made the call at the coronation and presentation of staff of office to the first Onifiditi of Fiditi, Oba Sakiru Oyewole Adekola-Oyelere, Ajani-Eedu II.

TheNewsZenith reports that Deputy Governor, Bayo Lawal, represented the governor at the coronation.

Makinde advised Oba Adekola-Oyelere to collaborate with the government to address pressing issues in his domain.

“You should ensure the well-being and progress of your community,” the governor advised.

He emphasized the importance of security, education, healthcare and community development.

Makinde also encouraged the people of Fiditi to support their new Oba.

“Fiditi is blessed with natural resources, including various fruits.

“The Royal Father should translate these potentials into commercial and profitable ventures for the benefit of the community and the state.”

The governor stressed the need for collaboration between the traditional institutions and government authorities to promote security and overall development.

He also appealed to the royal father to rule with integrity and dedication to the well-being of all, fostering unity and progress in his domain.

Makinde, however, warned that the government has zero tolerance for criminality and lawlessness.

He said he expected royal fathers to work with the government to ensure the prevalence of the rule of law and orderliness in the state.

Responding, Oba Adekola-Oyelere thanked the governor for his support. He pledged to grow Fiditi’s economy, attract businesses and create opportunities for all under his reign.
