………. chairman flays naira scarcity
The National Chairman of Social Democratic Party (SDP), Alhaji Shehu Gabam, has condemned the scarcity of naira notes caused by the Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) policy.
The chairman said this at the meeting of Kwara southerners based in Abuja.
The theme of the meeting is: “Discussing the Kwara South Prosperity Agenda, and the Need for Quality Representation”.
Gabam described the CBN’s policy on the currency redesign as reckless, ridiculous and absent of intelligence in the political calculation.
“You cannot suffocate the society because of few elites that you accused of stocking money,” he said.

“My candidate is at the forefront better than any other candidate in Kwara South Senatorial district.
“Our senatorial and the House of Representatives candidates are the best in Kwara State.
“I do not doubt that they will win their seats.
“We have the best candidates, we went for the quality calibre of people that can change the country,” he said.
Also speaking, the SDP Senatorial candidate for Kwara South, Sulaiman described his constituency as strong and important in the country.

Sulaiman promised to attract a $10 million investment in health and education for the benefit of the people of the senatorial district if elected.
The Professor of Neurosurgeon and Spinal Surgery said he had done all the needed calculations to know what it would cost to insure the people of Kwara South in health insurance and education.
“We need a contingent of Kwara South development fund.
“If we have $10 million, we will have health and education insurance in Kwara South,” the candidate said.
Mr Saheed Popoola, the SDP House of Representatives candidate for Offa, Oyun and Ifelodun, who accompanied Sulaiman to the meeting, urged the people to vote en mass for the candidate.
He said it should be replicated across the board for all the candidates of the party.
Popoola added that this would bring real dividends of democracy to the district.
