Ajayi Crowther University Alumni Association, Oyo town, has donated a Sienna bus to its alma mater to aid its logistic operations.

TheNewsZenith reports that the association donated the bus to ease the movement and activities of the institution’s principal officers.

The Association donated the bus during the 16th convocation and Alumni Lecture held at the Folorunsho Alakija Law Faculty of the University, on Wednesday, in Oyo state.

Many activities were lined up to celebrate the university’s academic achievements and the strides recorded in nurturing excellence among its students.

According to the Association’s National President, Mr Busoye Ogunlade, the alumni body has been supporting the university with various donations.

It also rewarded some of the university’s workers for their long-serving and dedication to the University.

Ogunlade recalled that the executives, under his leadership, bought some computer sets for the Transcripts Department to ease issuance of transcripts when old students make the request.

Ogunlade, who also chairman of the Oyo State Road Maintenance Agency (OYSROMA), pledged that the alumni body would continue to contribute to the development of the university.

“We will launch the Alumni website this month. This will avail old students, both at home and in the Diaspora, the opportunity to bond towards achieving greater goals,” he said.

TheNewsZenith reports that while handing the the bus over to the Vice-Chancellor, Ogunlade urged all old students to strive towards contributing to the development of their alma mater.

“The school authorities alone cannot provide all the needs of the institution.

“To meet the increasing demand for quality education, the university urgently requires the support of its old students.

“We must rally round to enhance the infrastructure on its campuses,” TheNewsZenith quotes Ogunlade as saying.

He prayed that the university keeps expanding in larger strides as well as every graduate of the School.

Responding, the insitution’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Timothy Adebayo, thanked Alumni body for contributing to the university’s development.

Adebayo affirmed that the association has been a worthy partner in progress since he assumed office.

He recalled that the association has made several donations towards the university.

“We are grateful to the university’s alumni for purchasing this bus. It is timely and we appreciate it,” the VC said.

He used the occasion to highlight some achievement of the university under his management since last year.

Adebayo said the institution has signed many pacts with various bodies and institutions.

“These pacts have aided academic developments, stability, accreditation and expansion of frontiers,” the VC said.
