Varsity disowns Pascal, suspected cultist, as its student

From Our Correspondent

The management of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma in Edo has disowned one Pascal, paraded as a suspected cultist in the state, as its student.

The spokesman of the university, Mike Ade Aladenika, gave the disclaimer in a statement at the weekend in Ekpoma.

Aladenika said the claims of the alleged suspect, trending on Tiktok social media, “is not true”.

In a TikTok video currently trending, the suspect claimed to be a student of the university. Pascal allegedly self-confessed to being a cultist during a police parade.

“As much as we can confirm, the video is not a recent playback. It also suffices to say that his studentship of AAUE is doubtful and non-existent.

“All attempts to trace the said name in all our faculty and departmental records (both past and present) were negative.

“It is a statement of fact that Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, has zero tolerance for cult-related and unholy activities of students.

“All our students are under obligation and oaths to abstain from such misdemeanour,” Aladenika stated.

According to him, cultism runs counter to the university’s rules and guiding principles of studentship.

“We, therefore, enjoin the general public to disregard whatever link the paraded suspect may have professed as it is nothing but lies from the pit of hell.

“We also use this medium to allay the fear of current or intending students, parents and the general public that our university has grown beyond the activities of criminal-minded youths.

“Our university and college campuses are safe havens for learning.”
