Bello reiterates commitment to nursing education in Kogi

Gov. Yahaya Bello of Kogi has reiterated his administration’s commitment to fostering standard of nursing education in the state.

Bello gave the assurance at the 6th combined convocation of the Kogi State College of Nursing and Midwifery in Obangede, Okehi Local Government Area.

The governor said: “We will maintain the priority of education development in Kogi”.

“My administration sees education as a significant asset to Kogi, and we will maintain our priority on educational development.

“This is because of the crucial role education plays in nation-building.

“I, therefore, wish to urge all students to focus on acquiring practical skills. Do not solely rely on academic qualifications to contribute your quota to the development of Nigeria,” Bello said.

While congratulating the graduating students, the governor commended the college’s management for the remarkable progress and improvements in the college.

Earlier, the Provost of the college, Mrs Hannah Abraham thanked the governor for improving the college rating.

Abraham highlighted the school’s achievements, encompassing academic excellence, physical infrastructure development, staff training and welfare.

According to her, all courses of the college have received accreditation.

“This feat has made our college a sought-after nursing school in Nigeria. We are grateful to the magnanimous Governor, Alh Yahaya Bello.

“He made substantial investments in education, from primary, secondary to tertiary levels.

“Today, 1,069 students that successfully completed their studies here taking part in the convocation,” she said.
