An 80-year-old woman has died in a building collapse that also displaced seven families in Oyingbo, Mainland Local Government Area of Lagos State on Thursday.
Coordinator of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) in the state, Mr Ibrahim Farinloye, confirmed the development.
Farinloye said the building had shown signs of distress for long time ago. Finally, it collapsed partially on Thursday, he added.
The coordinator said two households fortunately escaped from the building shortly before it collapsed at about 7.45 a.m.

“The two storey building with GPS coordinates: N6°28’42.09 – E3°23’11.09 is located at No 34, Oloto Street, off Borno way, Ebute Metta, Lagos Mainland.
“It had been showing signs of distressed earlier.
“In order to prevent further threats to the residents in the neighbourhood, the officials of Lagos State Building Control Agency have begun tactical demolitions of the remaining parts,” Farinloye stated.
