The Epetedo Indigenes Association has joined various interest groups criticising Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State over the imbalance in the list of his commissioners.
This is contained in a press statement, jointly signed by three leaders of the association, Alhaji Maroof-deen Babatunde Oshodi (Chairman), Dr Mondiu Babatunde Sarumi and Alhaji Nosiru-deen Adegboyega Oshodi.
“It is necessary and expedient to describe Gov. Sanwo-Olu’s new cabinet as a rather disappointing cabinet composition.
“The list falls short of the expectation of the electorate,” the statement, emailed to TheNewsZenith read in part.
According to the association, the rigid stance of Sanwo-Olu on the issue is disappointing.
This is in spite of all that all citizens of the state made to ensure his victory at the poll.
“Our decision to ventilate our stance derives from the seeming hard stance of the governor.
“After the commitment that all citizens sacrificed for him to shield him from electoral defeat.
“We hereby register strongly the disappointment of Epetedo Indigenes with the contemptuous disposition of the governor to the people that stood with him when the going was rough, really rough.

“We feel shortchanged by this list of commissioners. It is outrightly unacceptable to us.
“With all sense of responsibility, we view with dismay the lopsided distribution of the said list.
“And, we strongly request an urgent review of the composition,” they stated.
The indigenes noted that the governor needed to revisit the list “so as to give all the much-desired equity and equal opportunity as provided by both the Nigerian Constitution and sense of fairness”.
The association called on the Lagos State Government, the APC Leaders in Lagos Island and all others concerned in the exercise to revisit the 39 names as published.
“They should do a holistic reappraisal to ensure equity and balance of distribution.”
It restates its commitment to God being trusted as they look up to Him always for cherished goals.
