Lagos, Feb. 21, ’25 (TNZ) The Nigeria Police Force (NPF), in collaboration with the UNDP and the GS Foundation, has introduced an Advanced Facilitators Training Programme for the Force’s personnel.
TheNewsZenith reports that the training aimed at enhancing the instructional and leadership capabilities of police officers.
In a statement, e-mailed to TheNewsZenith, on Thursday, the Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said the training which began on Feb. 10, ends on Saturday.
Adejobi stated that the IGP reiterated the need to leverage continuous training to reform NPF.
“The training, held at the National Institute of Police Studies (NIPS), Abuja, ran in two sessions from Feb. 10 to Feb. 15 and from Feb. 17 to Feb. 22,” Adejobi stated.
According to him, CP Rashad B. Afegbua, the Commissioner in charge of Training and Development, represented the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun at the event.
“The training participants were carefully selected based on their outstanding performance in the Basic Facilitators Programme.

“This advanced programme aims to equip the officers with high-level facilitation skills.
“This will enable them to serve as facilitators to other officers, thereby ensuring a sustainable capacity-building framework within the Force,” TheNewsZenith quotes from the statement.
NPF appreciated the UNDP and GS Foundation for sponsoring this programme.
Adejobi stated that the training would further strengthen the Force’s commitment to professionalism, excellence and improved service delivery.
“The Force remains committed to personnel development and capacity building, recognizing its role in driving effective reforms in Nigeria’s policing system,” he added. (TNZ)
