The Lagos State Government recorded N918 million turnover within 40 market days of its premier food hub in the Mushin area.

Ms Abisola Olusanya, Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Systems, announced the figures at a news conference on Wednesday in Lagos.

The ministry organised the briefing to enlighten residents on Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration’s initiative to tackle the food crisis.

TheNewsZenith recalls that Sanwo-Olu inaugurated the middle-level food agro-hub in Idi-Oro, Mushin in December 2023.

Olusanya said the government introduced the food market to devise a new method of food distribution and tackle the rising cost of food. It also aims to address post-harvest losses.

“Residents are feeling the impact of the Mushin food hub, as the government sell at discounted prices.

“The hub is one of many that we should have set up in the state.
